Artsy Cafe In Manila

Steak, glorious steak. Oh how I love thee. I am always on the lookout for the best places to try when those intense steak cravings kick in – wherever in the world I may be.

I was born in the Philippines and lived there until I was about 7 years old, which was when I moved to the UK with my family. We try to visit every other year and in my most recent visit, I stumbled upon this quirky steakhouse which I thought was super cute and had such a unique dining ambience.

The Decor

The interior design of the restaurant is somewhat enchanting with trees that twinkle along with the fairy lights, creating that feel-good ambience all around. The floor has a pretty eclectic patterned design going on which adds to the quirkiness of the whole restaurant. It’s a great spot to go on a romantic date but equally as perfect to go hang out with friends and family. If you’re like me and love to take photos – this place is perfect for the ‘gram!

There’s an option to either sit inside or outside, I went for the latter. I thought the outside seating area looked like such nice front deck area and my family and I wanted to soak it all in. Even though it’s very hot in Manila most of the time – we went in the evening so there was a light breeze in the air that helped us stay comfortable all night long.

Steak & Calamansi

The steak was amazing! So tasty and was cooked medium-rare which hit me right on the spot. I ordered my steak with a side of vegetables, mashed potato and peppercorn sauce. The flavour composition was perfect and the portion size was very generous. It’s incredibly filling and well worth the money. Let’s also take a moment to appreciate how adorable my plate and mason jars looked on that little set-up, so Instagrammable right?

The drinks were so refreshing. Most of us went for calamansi juice which is a staple in many Filipino meals. Calamansi is a fruit that’s pretty popular across the Philippines and in Southeast Asia in general. It’s similar to lime I’d say and calamansi juice is basically like the Filipino version of lemonade. In Artsy Cafe you can either have it cold or hot. Some of us went for cold and others went for hot. I definitely knew that ice cold calamansi juice was exactly what I was craving for at the time. The drink was perfectly balanced between citrusy and sweet. They also came in the cutest mason jars ever!

If you’re ever in Manila and want to indulge in a good hearty meal and feel refreshed from a wide selection of their quirky drinks, I would definitely recommend Artsy Cafe located in Maginhawa Diliman Lungsod Quezon Kalakhang Maynila, Philippines.
